Introducing Sooloos 2.1
The latest evolution of Meridian Sooloos, version 2.1, incorporates many exciting new features that clearly maintain Meridian's lead in reference digital media systems.
Internet Radio
Finding new music, or rediscovering music once forgotten, is an important part of the Meridian Sooloos experience. To extend that experience still further, Meridian Sooloos now offers access to Internet Radio, providing easy and fast access to the vast number of stations available internationally.
Internet Radio access is organised and "curated" – via the popular RadioTime directory – to identify and present the highest quality and most-respected stations in all genres – and not only music, but drama, news, sports and much more – helping you find stations you'll enjoy quickly and reliably. And if you have a free RadioTime account, you can access your favourite station presets direct from your Meridian Sooloos system.
iPhone Control Application
Among the other key features in the latest update, there's a dedicated iPhone Application, providing hand-held control of the Sooloos system from anywhere in the home. There's no configuration or set-up required: simply download the Meridian Sooloos iPhone app from the App Store, install it on an iPhone or iPod Touch, and have immediate handheld wireless control of the system throughout your home.
New Features and enhanced Home Automation Integration
Additional support for third-party control services such as Crestron allow superior integration with systems from the industry's leading control companies.
In addition, new interface enhancements create a cleaner, more elegant approach to browsing and displaying the music library for all Meridian Sooloos owners. New sorting features organise the collection according to how often you listen to albums, plus sorting by audio quality to separate mp3s from full-quality files.
If you already have a Meridian Sooloos system, you'll receive the 2.1 software suite as a free update. If you join Rhapsody, you'll receive the first *six months of your membership free.
As always with Meridian, the focus is on fully-integrated systems. A Meridian Sooloos system perfectly suited to your needs can be created from any combination of its three core requirements: Control, Storage and Playback. And now the ID40 Sooloos Card provides an audio endpoint for owners of the 861V6 and 808.3 Reference Series components to access their Meridian Sooloos system at the very highest quality.
Rhapsody
If you're a Meridian Sooloos owner in the US, you can now, for just $13 per month, subscribe to the Rhapsody music service via your system, offering access to the entire Rhapsody collection of over eight million tracks. Albums from Rhapsody can be added to your Cover Browser and then browsed, searched, and played as if they were stored locally – with all the power, speed, and elegance of the Meridian Sooloos interface.
