And perhaps the most exciting thing about that is how all of these new advantages can be installed into your existing system through a simple firmware update carried out by your retailer.

Which products can be updated?

These most recent updates cover a wide range of Meridian Surround Sound Controllers and DSP Loudspeakers including; 861 V4 & V6, G68, G61, G61R and C61R; DSP3100, DSP5000, DSP5200, DSP6000, DSP7000, DSP7200, and DSP8000.

Why update your Meridian Surround Sound Controller?

For Meridian Surround Sound Controllers, this update brings two significant performance enhancing features. First is the addition of our proprietary 'apodising' style upsampling filters – a technology that helps make music, television, and movie soundtracks sound better than ever, and can even correct faults in the original recording. The second is a significant enhancement to the DIRECT and STEREO DSP presets – the DSP modes that your Meridian Surround Sound Controller uses when you want to listen in two-channel.

Why update your Meridian DSP Loudspeakers?

Depending on which model of Meridian DSP Loudspeakers you own, this update offers a wide range of performance and feature improvements. For those of you using your Meridian DSP Loudspeakers with a Meridian Sooloos Digital Media System, there is improved system integration, making it easier to operate your system through a single control device. For DSP Loudspeaker models that are already capable of upsampling, we’ve added our proprietary apodising style upsampling filters. And for all of our three-way DSP Loudspeakers, we’ve developed an improved method of crossover alignment that not only improves low-frequency timing and accuracy, but also delivers enhanced stereo imaging.

Audio Core 200 update

There is also an update to Audio Core 200 – Meridian’s two-channel system controller – giving it the features it needs to control the brand new DSW, Meridian’s first DSP subwoofer. And DSW can be added to almost any Meridian system to give both a deeper and a richer sound to music and movies alike.

All these improved and new technologies simply mean that your existing system is going to perform even better than before.

Who updates your Meridian system?

As with previous firmware updates from Meridian, existing owners stand to gain more than anyone else as the new features and improved performance are made availablefree of charge.

Meridian firmware updates are provided and installed by your authorised Meridian retailer or installer.
