The availability of both digital and analogue components within the G Series range, along with a complete series of analogue power amplifiers, means that the G Series is equally at home with analogue loudspeakers available from other manufacturers as it is with our own DSP Loudspeakers. You can choose either signal path, analogue or digital, safe in the knowledge that we at Meridian are well versed in both digital and analogue audio, and that good design is a constant factor, whatever form the signal path may take. |

The G Series includes a selection of optical disc players and transports, with roots that go back to the very first audiophile CD player in the world. Every one sounds as good as it looks and offers both digital and analogue outputs. Products higher up in the range offer Meridian’s unique upsampling approach in which the audio data is converted to a high-density, high-definition signal offering the maximum level of quality from the medium. In addition, true balanced outputs on XLR connectors are available if preferred. |

At the top of the G Series line are DVD players that will replay virtually any PCM-based 120mm disc, including not only all varieties of Compact Disc including MP3 and CDV, but also the CD layer of hybrids such as SACD. Both sides of the DualDisc DVD/CD hybrid can be played and the units support the full gamut of DVD format discs including DVDVideo, of course, and DVD-Audio. |

Meridian is a video company as well as an audio company: our DVD players are as renowned for their picture quality as for their sound. Our video processors support the very latest industry standard interfaces, such as DVI and HDMI. An available powerful built-in video processor enables multiple video inputs to be sent via a single link to your television or display – handling virtually any combination of S-Video, composite and component signals – an especially powerful combination with a G-Series Surround Controller. Meanwhile, Meridian was the first company to carry full-resolution digital audio signals from a DVD-Audio player to a processor, thanks to the fully encrypted high-density SmartLink – that, incidentally, reduces jitter in addition to carrying advanced-resolution signals. |

At Meridian, we write our own DVD navigation systems, rather than relying on third-party software. This means that we can provide DVD functionality that is completely integrated with the G Series as a whole, with rapid response times, for example, displaying a menu and selecting its options. It also means that we can include additional functionality by means of software upgrades as the medium grows and develops. |

Preamplifiers and controllers offer superb analogue audio performance, as one would expect from a company that has its roots deep in analogue technology. Units with balanced and unbalanced outputs are available for maximum flexibility. The G Series balanced preamplifier includes a fully dual-mono construction for maximum channel isolation. Moving Coil and Moving Magnet phono preamplifier cards are available for the controller units. The range of amplifiers forms the vital link between Meridian G Series components and high-quality third-party passive loudspeakers. They feature a unique design topology, including biasing for pseudo Class A operation, resulting in an extraordinarily low output impedance – in fact, it is virtually zero. Coupled with low feedback, these amplifiers maintain their extraordinary audio quality and stability when driving almost any load. Stereo and multichannel amplifiers are available, all with bridgeable pairs of channels for optimum flexibility. |
