Since we write our own software, all Meridian products can work together seamlessly, controlled from one handset.
During over 20 years of continuous development we have pioneered some interesting design 'firsts'. Meridian was the first company to produce a 'high- end' CD player and the first to make a separated CD transport and DAC (digital to analogue converter).

We also prefer to build loudspeakers with integral dedicated amplifiers and digital crossovers -rather like building the engine and transmission into your car.

Loudspeakers like this simply work better, sound clearer, give deeper bass and are smaller than their conventional equivalents. Most recording studios think the same. In addition to these benefits, our DSP (digital signal processing) provides brilliant techniques to steer and adapt the sound to the acoustics of your room for the best possible performance. Like some computers, the audio and video circuits are designed in a card based format that can be configured exactly to your needs and can adapt to changing technology. Unlike a computer, the 800 Series is beautifully crafted from the finest quality materials and is designed to provide a lifetime's listening pleasure.

The most important component in the 800 Series is invisible - it's called peace of mind. Our carefully trained field installers will advise you on the best system for your needs. Then we build it to your exact requirements. When the system is fitted, the setup of your sound room is measured and recorded. Sometimes we can even upgrade your system via email.

The products are housed in full size, optional rack mount enclosures.

The Meridian 800 is the finest reference quality CD and DVD player available. It incorporates preamplifier functions and can be the centrepiece of your system. Inputs can be specified for every source you will ever need.

The Meridian 861 reference surround controller combines our award winning digital processors in a product that excels in both music and video. It decodes all the popular video formats and many special Meridian music modes. It is the perfect partner to the Meridian 800.
