ISE 2019 REVIEW
MERIDIAN BRINGS EXCEPTIONAL AUDIO PERFORMANCE TO ISE 2019
We are celebrating a successful ISE 2019 after welcoming dealers to our booth to introduce them to several innovative new products and market-leading services.
Immersing visitors to the booth with authentic, High-Resolution audio playing from a pair of standout DSP5200 Special Edition Loudspeakers, visitors were eager to learn more about how our products can be used for the ultimate audio experience for their clients in both home cinema and media room applications.
The stars of the show this year were the new In-Wall Loudspeakers, the DSP640.2 and DSP520.2, which were exclusively launched at ISE 2019. Positively received by dealers visiting the Meridian booth, the DSP640.2 and DSP520.2 are the first loudspeakers to be powered by the new Meridian ‘CLASS-M’ DSP engine, characterised by their high SPL’s and strong bass performance capabilities. Both models are also the first to integrate Meridian’s ‘DYNAMIC’ Hi-Res amplifiers, for renowned audio quality in a wide range of installation applications.
The DSP640.2 uses a new octo-amp design with a bridged pair of amplifiers for each of the four drive units, whilst the DSP520.2 uses an all-new quad-amp design with a bridged pair of amplifiers for each of the two drive units. With the latest Meridian technologies, only 100mm mounting depth and high fidelity, the new in-wall products are perfect for delivering high quality, lifelike sound discreetly in any media room or home cinema.
Away from the booth, visitors to Barco’s sound room had the opportunity to hear the new in-wall loudspeakers in action and experience Meridian’s renowned sound quality and what can be achieved in a dedicated home theatre environment.
Integrators were also introduced to the new 210 Streamer, a versatile product designed for reliable, high quality audio streaming throughout the home, with minimal fuss and with maximum quality. The 210 can be connected over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to any smart phone or tablet, with volume and playback controls synchronised between streaming apps and the Meridian system. Supporting Bluetooth and Roon, as well as offering DLNA / UPnP compatibility, the 210 can also be connected directly to a pair of DSP loudspeakers or to any system via a SpeakerLink input for ultimate flexibility.
Aside from the range of audio products on show, our dedicated staff were on-hand to discuss the professional services available to integrators. Our complimentary Design and Specification Service integrates all of its partners’ technology to make it quicker and easier for integrators to specify the right products for the perfect installation. To utilise this service, integrators need to simply discuss upcoming projects with our design experts who will then take care of the rest, producing detailed wiring diagrams and a precise room plan.
To complement this, integrators also have the option to create their own instant cinema and media room designs using the award-winning The CEDIA Designer (TCD) software. As an extension of our renowned Design and Specification Service, the software provides 3D arrangement of speakers, in alignment with industry standards, incorporating the guidelines from Dolby and the CEDIA whitepaper on speaker positioning.
As part of CEDIA’s professional development programme at the show, our Education Manager, Hugo Fitzjohn, hosted a training session on Making Multi-room Audio a Better Profit Stream for Your Business. Hugo explained to attendees how on-demand streaming services provide a great opportunity for integrators to significantly improve the experience for their customers, whilst increasing profitability.
