Meridian in-car systems are not upgradable. It is advised that you discuss audio package options with your sales team to ensure you choose the Meridian system that is right for you.

A Meridian Audio system is more than the sum of the physical components. Our unique DSP technologies and advanced system tuning methods are essential in delivering the final performance, and bespoke for each individual vehicle model. Therefore, Meridian systems cannot be offered as an aftermarket solution. Meridian Horizon is an upmixing technology that provides immersive multichannel audio from two channel stereo content, configured for any loudspeaker layout.       

This provides the user with a truly enveloping and immersive listening experience and pinpoint imaging.

Meridian Horizon up mixes two-channel stereo to any loudspeaker configuration. Its adaptive upmixing treats high and low-frequencies separately to psychoacoustically optimize sound localization cues. Furthermore, control of the upmixing can be given to the end user through the HMI, allowing control over where they would like the central image and how much ambient content they would like.

Meridian Horizon results in more stable imaging, with a larger sweet-spot, and none of the tonal colouration of conventional two-channel stereo.

Meridian RE-Q Cabin Correction technology intelligently and discreetly optimises the audio system to the precise acoustics of the vehicle cabin, preserving the natural rhythm of the performance. This unique Meridian technology enables bass notes to be reproduced cleanly, ensuring that the clarity and definition of each instrument and vocal are tailored to the interior of your cabin

Meridian Perfect Balance technology ensures that as the volume of the system varies there is no perceived loss of low and high frequencies, and spectral balance is maintained at all volume levels. This ensures the passenger experiences tonally balanced audio at all volume levels.

Many sources of music are enjoyed through digital audio systems such as radio, USB and Bluetooth audio streaming. Meridian Digital Precision ensures that digital signal changes are made smooth and seamless, preserving the finest details of the performance. Connectivity options vary from car-to-car and from system-to-system, but all Meridian in-car audio systems enable connectivity via Bluetooth and USB. It is recommended that memory sticks up to 64GB in size are used. Although larger sticks can be used, it becomes pretty onerous to search through 128GB of music to access a particular track. In practice, it is preferable to use a smaller stick with the music structured and listed according to personal preference

It is recommended that memory sticks are formatted to FAT32.

The maximum number of folders which can be used is 1023 (plus the “root” folder). Each folder can contain up to 1024 items (i.e. the total of files and folders). The maximum total number of files which can be used is 15000

All Meridian in-car systems are measured at 0.2% THD +N (Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise). This is a level of distortion not audible to the human ear

The bit-rates supported vary according to the format of the files

MP3: 8kbps - 320kbps

WMA: 5kbps - 384kbps

AAC: 8kbps - 320kbps

Bit-rate can have a direct effect on performance. For any given format, as bit-rate is increased, the potential for higher sound-quality is increased. As such, it is advised that the highest available bit-rate which is supported by the system is used. However, it should be also noted that the potential for improved performance will be fulfilled only if other influences, such as the quality of the original recording, do not act as limiting factors.
