HR Coordinator

The HR Coordinator role collaborates with leaders across the business to help build high-performing teams and provides day-to-day support for HR department. The HR Coordinator is responsible for the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit.

Main Duties:

  • Provide first line response to all HR queries from employees and managers and escalate where appropriate.
  • Work with department leaders to understand their goals, support with day-to-day people planning, including performance conversations, engagement and employee relations.
  • Develop, review and manage HR Policies and procedures, ensuring they are compliant, relevant and consistently applied
  • Promote continuous improvement through people practices and ensure Meridian’s principles are applied throughout the business
  • Support Line Managers with performance-related activities and ensure all job descriptions are kept up to date 
  • Advise and propose HR initiatives aimed at improving performance and employee engagement
  • Administer and develop HR Projects as required
  • Manage and administer the company benefits including, pension, bike2 work, private healthcare and dental benefit schemes. Ensuring they remain competitive and relevant
  • Maintain the HR database, ensuring all employee documentation is up to date and compliant
  • Work with the Business Operations Director and collaborate across the business to create training programmes that meet business objectives
  • Supporting with employee relations cases such as maternity leave, disciplinaries cases, contractual change requests etc.
  • Manage the recruitment and induction process, including the interview, onboarding, right to work checks and administering contractual documents
  • Support Line Managers on HR activities including absence management, probation reviews, succession planning etc.
  • Provide absence reports and support Line Managers with return-to-work interviews by ensuring the correct procedures are being followed.
  • Minuting HR meetings, documenting discussions and following up with further administration as necessary.
  • Assisting with payroll administration
  • Role modelling expected behaviours and be an ambassador for the company culture and values

Experience Required:

  • Relevant HR experience
  • Experience managing the employee lifecycle is essential
  • Proven experience creating and executing people plans (desirable)
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferably
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relationships
  • Proven administrative skills
  • CIPD L3 (Desirable)
