Current Vacancies

Automotive DSP Engineer

Meridian are looking for an Automotive DSP engineer to join our Automotive team and support the development of high-end automotive audio systems. This will include support throughout the development process, from design of the systems and implementation of DSP libraries through to integration of those libraries and tuning of the vehicles. You will also work closely with the Research and Applied Technologies team on the development and implementation of new and existing DSP algorithms.

We are looking for someone with a good degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, acoustics, computer science, physics or mathematics), plus 2-5 years of industry experience, preferably in an audio-related field.

You should be familiar with prototyping of algorithms in MATLAB and/or Python, as well as implementation of audio algorithms in C or similar. Experience with ADI SHARC and/or TI C66x DSP platforms would be beneficial.

Required experience:

  • Critical listening/audio tuning
  • Hands-on DSP experience
  • Working knowledge of C and/or C++
  • Python (preferably including UI design)
  • DSP filter and algorithm design
  • Prototyping and development of algorithms in MATLAB and/or Python

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of loudspeaker technology and acoustics
  • DSP implementation on ADI SHARC and/or TI C66x platforms
  • Audio measurement equipment (e.g. Prism dScope, Audio Precision, SMAART etc.)
  • Automotive acoustics
  • Transducer and loudspeaker evaluation (T/S and enclosure)

  • Teamwork – you will be working alongside a number of engineers across the engineering department

Research Engineer

Meridian are looking for an experienced research engineer to join our Research and Applied Technologies team. You will be working alongside research, acoustic and DSP engineers, plus the Automotive team, to develop new and innovative audio signal processing algorithms for application in Meridian’s own high-performance home audio products as well as for application across our licensing customers and partners. The role will also include occasional support for the Automotive team with the tuning of Meridian automotive audio systems, which may involve international travel.

We are looking for someone with a good degree in engineering, acoustics, computer science, physics or mathematics, plus experience in the research and development of audio signal processing algorithms. You should be familiar with prototyping of algorithms in MATLAB and/or Python, and it would be advantageous if you had experience in implementing algorithms in C or similar. Experience with Max MSP would also be beneficial. Experience with audio measurement systems such as Prism dScope, Audio Precision, Soundcheck or similar, is also necessary.

A key part of the role will also be customer-facing, so experience in presenting work to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences is essential. Additionally, you will be required to assist with the generation of marketing assets, including video content, so you must be comfortable in front of a camera (see the technologies section under innovation on the Meridian website for examples of existing videos).

Essential experience:
