HEAD OF ENGINEERING

We have a vacancy for a Head of Engineering, at our facility in Huntingdon, to be responsible for the daily management of the Engineering Department and the overall planning and execution of complex development programs and research projects, from initial brief through to delivery for the business.

We are looking for a candidate who has considerable management experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can demonstrate a high degree of accountability. The position will act as the senior interface between the engineering teams and key customers and involves working closely with executive management. Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to manage complex technical programs and to drive multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams and individuals to deliver.
  • Excellent presentation and first-class interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels both internally and externally.

ASSISTANT PRODUCT MANAGER

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Product Manager to join our newly established Product team. In this newly created role, you will be reporting to the Product Manager, and will be supporting the management of the full product lifecycle and delivery of category objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will be degree qualified or have 1-2 years relevant work experience. You’ll have gained experience in either a Product / Brand / Trade Marketing / Category or Insight role, and will possess product development skills, ideally from a consumer electronics or technology background, although this is not essential. Experience of UK/FE manufacture would be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and analyse the product range, customer experience and profitability to identify areas of improvement
  • Scan and monitor competitors, market, category, emerging technology and product trends and report back to the business with recommendations for new products and features
  • Utilize sales data, insights and market research to identify sales opportunities
  • Research and identify product gaps, taking into consideration market trends and channels of distribution
  • Assist in the creation of product briefs for approved new products
  • Monitor product performance and work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to review and refine product positioning/messaging to drive greater sales
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production to identify cost saving opportunities
  • Ensure product costs are on target and to budgeted margin requirements
  • Research customers / consumers to ensure that the products offered meet current and future needs
