Manufacturing engineer

Reporting to the Operations Manager this role will provide technical leadership for our production and test teams.  

 Main Duties / Responsibilities

 The successful applicant will:

 

- DFM/DFT Interface to R+D team.

 - Technical author for Meridian factory’s test process documentation and product assembly work instructions.

 - Responsible for the production assembly tools, jigs, fixtures and processes.

- Influence test jig design, working close with test engineering on test systems development.

- Technical trainer for Meridian production test areas, control and update of the test dept skills matrix.

- Monitor and implement H&S directives given to test dept by our H&S committee.

- Main point of technical contact for external suppliers and partners.

 

Experience

 We are looking for applicants with a strong desire to succeed combined with relevant experience, including:

 - First class relationship- & rapport-building skills.

 - Graduated with an engineering degree.

 - Worked as a manufacturing engineer for 4-5 years.

 - Proficiency in word and image processing and of data handing & with an aptitude towards preparation of visual aids.

 - Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Visio are minimum requirements the candidate will ideally have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and other modern design CAD systems, database tools and other software tools.

 - The candidate needs to be a well-organised individual with a strong will to improve all aspects of product assembly and test.

 - The candidate needs to be a good communicator and to be able to present data and instruction in a clear and concise manner.

 - Written and spoken knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.

Automotive Engineer

 Reporting to the Research and Applied Technologies Team Leader this role will support Meridian’s customers in the design and development of Meridian’s high-performance automotive audio systems. This will include support throughout the development process, from design of the systems through to final EQ and sign-off.

 

Main Duties / Responsibilities

 The successful applicant will:

 - Support the design of automotive audio systems.

  - Conduct EQ and tuning of automotive audio systems.

 - Support the sign-off of automotive audio systems alongside other key stakeholders.

 - Provide support to marketing and commercial teams within Meridian and automotive partners.

 - Supporting Meridian’s research engineers in the development and deployment of new automotive technologies.

 

Experience 

We are looking for applicants with a strong desire to succeed combined with relevant experience and a passion for music and listening.

Essential Requirements:

 - Good degree (2.1 or better), or equivalent experience, in a related field (acoustics, computer science, electronic engineering, physics, mathematics).

 - Highly organised and self-motivated, a creative and innovative thinker with the ability to adapt quickly and effectively.

 - Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear explanations and documentation.

Advantageous Requirements:

 - Automotive Acoustics

 - C/C++ programming

 - Acoustic simulation (lumped element, finite element method, boundary element method etc.)

 - Transducer design

 - Loudspeaker Design

 - Critical listening

 - Audio signal processing

 - Acoustics

 - Acoustic measurements (Prism dScope, Audio Precision, Soundcheck etc.)

 - MATLAB

 - Basic understanding of Electroacoustics

 - Basic understanding of Psychoacoustics
