Immersive In-Car Audio: Meridian and Dolby Take Centre Stage at GearFest

In July, Meridian showcased the future of authentic, immersive in-car entertainment at GearFest in London, partnering with Dolby to deliver a groundbreaking haptic and Dolby Atmos experience - unlike anything experienced before.

GearFest brings the world’s leading music equipment manufacturers together in the heart of London, offering visitors an exclusive opportunity to explore the latest advancements in recording and audio technology.

Meridian’s 37-speaker, 3,200-watt Reference car with Vibrohaptic Audio

Visitors experienced Meridian’s Reference Demonstration Car - equipped with 37 speakers and 3,200 watts of amplification. The car incorporates Meridian’s proprietary audio technologies, including our Horizon upmixer that works seamlessly with Dolby Atmos content and Vibrohaptic Audio, which has been engineered to evoke goosebump-inducing reactions that stay with you.

"We really enjoyed collaborating with Meridian at GearFest and seeing the Meridian Reference car on display. Experiencing Dolby Atmos in that setting was incredible. It brings music to life with stunning clarity and depth. Dolby Atmos elevates music listening by revealing every detail and dimension of the tracks."

Andrea Borgato, Senior Manager, Music Partnership at Dolby

"Through our longstanding and strong collaboration with Dolby, we were really excited to showcase how the combined expertise of our teams has created a new standard for spatial and immersive audio in the car.” "

Paul Andrews, Global Automotive Director at Meridian

A standout feature in the vehicle is Meridian’s unique implementation of Dolby Atmos with integrated headrest audio, which works in harmony with Meridian’s Horizon upmixing controls to deliver a precise soundstage for every occupant.

Meridian Audio currently supply in-car audio to Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, Jaguar, KIA, Togg and AVATR.
