Furthermore, the majority of music is still produced as two-channel stereo, whilst increasingly, systems will have surround or height channels.
Meridian Horizon upmixes two-channel stereo to any loudspeaker configuration. Its adaptive upmixing treats high and low frequencies separately, to psychoacoustically optimize sound localization cues. Furthermore, control of the upmixing can be given to the end user allowing control over where they would like the central image and how much ambient content they would like.
Meridian Horizon results in more stable imaging, with a larger sweet-spot, and can create a more immersive listening experience in systems with surround or height speakers.
Horizon was deployed within premium LG sound bars, upmixing 2-channel content to present a consistent soundstage, regardless of seating position.
