The Meridian Premium Sound System in the Kia Telluride is the first in the world to feature Meridian's new Dynamic Bass mode. Bespoke to the Telluride, this new feature works in harmony with the premium 14-speaker Meridian system.

Designed from the outset: Meridian engineers crafted the Premium Sound System around the Telluride's exact cabin: its dimensions, materials and three-row layout.

Every seat, the same sound: Consistent, immersive audio across all three rows.

Meridian Horizon: Technology that expands standard stereo music into rich, cabin-filling sound across every row.

Human-centred by design: Tuned around how people hear, informed by psychoacoustics and nearly fifty years of Meridian innovation.

Meridian For Kia

Dynamic Bass Mode

Dynamic Bass Mode is a bespoke Meridian feature which enhances bass, giving listeners a more powerful and engaging low-frequency experience.

Every piece of music is built from high and low notes. The low sounds could be the thud of a kick drum or the rumble of a bassline - the bass that gives music its weight, depth and impact. Dynamic Bass draws more from those low sounds.

It reaches deeper into the lowest notes, delivering bass with greater punch, definition and physical impact you can feel through the seat.

It does all this without muddying anything else: vocals stay crisp, and every detail in the music comes through with exceptional clarity.

Tuned from the outset

The Meridian Premium Sound System was crafted for the Telluride from the outset. Meridian's engineers were integral to the vehicle's development, shaping the audio alongside the interior design teams for an uncompromised result.

The Telluride’s sound experience is a result of years of testing and refinement, with speaker placement and system performance calibrated to the precise character of the Telluride's interior, tailored for the cabin's dimensions, materials and layout.

Underpinning all of this is Meridian's deep understanding of psychoacoustics: the science of how people perceive sound, and how it makes them feel. Almost fifty years of audio innovation stand behind this purpose-built system, which is why it heightens emotion and delivers an authentic, natural and lifelike performance, true to the artist's original intent.

Paul Andrews, Global Director Of Automotive Business at Meridian Audio.

"Exceptional in-car audio begins long before a vehicle reaches production. With the Telluride, our engineers customised and fine-tuned every element of our audio technology to suit the cabin and the way people really use this car. Dynamic Bass is one example of that approach, delivering deeper, punchier and more engaging sound that brings listeners closer to the music across every row."

The same sound in every seat

Most audio systems, in listening rooms and home cinemas alike, are built around a single prime listening position, a sweet spot where everything comes together, while every other seat settles for less. Every seat matters to Meridian, a principle that becomes especially critical in a three-row SUV.

Meridian's system is tuned to deliver consistent sound across all three rows, so passengers in the back hear the same rich, balanced performance as the driver.

Meridian's proprietary upmixer, Horizon, expands standard stereo recordings throughout the cabin, creating a more immersive soundstage for everyone on board - whether you're behind the wheel or in one of the passenger seats.

Meridian Horizon offers three audio presets: 'Authentic' preserves the original recording, 'Surround' expands the soundstage for a more immersive experience, and 'Custom' lets listeners personalise the sound to their own taste.

Developed specifically for Kia's three-row SUV, Dynamic Bass enhances bass extension and punch in all seats, giving all listeners a more powerful and engaging low-frequency experience. Available as a selectable setting within the Telluride's Meridian Premium Sound System, Dynamic Bass can be used alongside any of these three listening modes.

What sets Meridian apart

At the heart of the audio system is a suite of proprietary technologies, working in unison to deliver accurate and detailed sound wherever the journey takes you - from open highways to bustling city centres.

Meridian Digital Precision: Protects fine detail and reduces haze, so more texture, definition and refinement come through.

Meridian RE-Q: Optimises the system for the real cabin environment, especially in lower frequencies, so the sound stays tight, controlled and composed.

Meridian Intelli-Q: Uses live vehicle data to adapt to changing cabin conditions, such as vehicle speed, helping keep the sound consistent, balanced and enjoyable for everyone.

Meridian Perfect Balance: Preserves warmth, clarity and character as volume changes, so the music sounds natural whether it is quiet or more powerful.

Meridian Horizon: Opens out every day stereo content into a wider, more immersive soundstage, so music feels more spacious across the cabin.

Together, these technologies work as one to deliver a seamless, refined audio experience engineered specifically for the Telluride’s cabin.
